Beginner sailing course

What? Two-day sailing course for beginners, maximum 5 participants.
Where? NJK, Port of Koivusaari, Vaskisalmenkuja 9, 00200, Helsinki. At the request of the participants, the course can also be organized from NJK Valkosaari port in the center of Helsinki.
When? Every weekend in August and September 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m
 
During the course you will learn the basics of sailing both in theory and in practice. We will initially go through the sailing vocabulary and the names of the parts, after which you will get to practice on the water. During the course, you will learn both how to steer the boat and how to adjust the sails to the right position. We also go through the basics of navigation and harbor maneuvers. During the course, there will be about 10-14 hours of sailing.

We adapt the content of the courses according to the wishes and goals of the participants. For example, we can focus more on navigation and holiday sailing or more on racing sailing.

The loan of rainwear, gloves and life jackets is included in the course price.

Saturday
9:00 a.m. meeting at the port
9.00-10.00 theory and getting to know the boat. 
10.00-12.30 sailing
12:30-13:30 lunch at sea or in the port, depending on the conditions
13:30-16:00 sailing
16:00-16:30 walkthrough of the day
